John Carillo’s Fire Hose Flags

Made with hoses sourced from the Thomas Fire, artist and retired firefighter, John Carillo, created twenty United States Flags, which we are proud to present in our Summerland and Montecito locations.

the blue of the canton is made from the fire hoses form the Santa Barbara Fire Department, the white stripes are made from the fire hoses of the Montecito Fire Department, and the red stripes are from fire departments from the rest of California who came to join forces in fighting the devastating fire.

These flags range in size from 3 ½ x 6’ (size of a standard mantel piece) to 7’ x 9’ and are each numbered and signed. They may be purchased either framed or as displayed. Montecito fire personnel will sign the back of the piece if you wish.

Pricing starts at $2,500 and 100% of the proceeds go to the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation, as many firemen and women are also military veterans.
